A constitutional official in the executive division of the U.S. State of Minnesota’s administration is the Sec of the region. Ever since the founding of the state, 22 people have served as secretaries of state. DFLer Steve Simon is the current candidate.

On the voting date in November, the public chooses a sec of the region, who starts service on the first Monday of January after being elected. The number of periods a minister may serve is unlimited. An individual must be at least 21 years old, an eligible candidate, and a legal citizen for at least 30 days previous to the vote to be appointed official. 

The President may name a replacement to fill the remaining term if SOS’s position becomes vacant. The SOS may also be impeached or subject to a recall election by the populace.

Nearly all firms are required to file with the SOS department. You must choose your company’s form before incorporating your firm (corporate entity, LLC, sole trader, etc.).

After establishing an online profile, select the corporate format you intend to use and respond to inquiries on your expertise and status. The final step would be to confirm your registration and make the payment.

Check name availability

Visit the corporate services page on the Minnesota minister’s authorized webpage after creating an account. Enter the intended title into the search field to see if it is already taken by a business. Then, from the drop-down option on the right, choose the entity name.

Duties of Minnesota SOS

According to the constitutional provision, the SOS is responsible for maintaining the Great Mark of the State of Minnesota. The office-holder has the following authorities and responsibilities: 

  • It functions as the President’s primary foreign policy counselor.
  • The office-holder oversees the state voting enrolment plan in addition to other voting administration tasks. 
  • The executive commands, fees, and federal guidelines are filed in the SOS office. 
  • It also certifies the formal vows and securities of state authorities.  
  • Municipal border documentation is preserved in the minister’s office. 
  • It encourages positive socio-economic interactions between the US and other countries.
